Journey Groups (Sunday Morning classes) - July-September
For 2019, our theme has been The Story. In our Journey Groups, from January-March, we looked at His story in the second half of the book of Acts. During April-June we looked at Our story as we celebrated our 40th Anniversary and studied through the book of Galatians, looking at Paul's writing to a group of Christians in the early church as we discussed their story. During July-September, we will look at My Story. For this session we have decided to do a series on spiritual disciplines based on the book Spiritual Disciplines for Spiritual Life by Donald S. Whitney.
In the series, we will explore topics such as Praying the Bible, Why God Answers Prayer, Bible Intake, Scripture Mediation, Family Worship, Fasting, Journaling, Silence, Solitude and The Lord's Day. During this series, we will have times of teaching & discussion in classes, but also look for ways to make these practices an active part of our Journey. It is our hope that this series will help you grow in godliness and provide you with a refreshing opportunity to embrace the pursuit of holiness through a lifelong delight in the disciplines. To that end, we will start this series on Sunday, July 7, in a combined class in the Auditorium to set the stage for our study of Spiritual Disciplines.
The teachers for this series will be:
- Room S201/202 Young Adults - Todd White
- Room S204 Spiritually Single - Tom McKee
- Room S205 Sonlight - Jody Vickery
- Room S206 Friendship - Steve Crigger
- Fellowship Hall General Adult - Lee Potts
