We made home-made dog treats and then delivered them to the doorsteps of several we know have dogs as pets. It was fun being sneaky good as a family.

Blessing the Blue

I drove around until I saw a parked police car, pulled up, rolled down my window and handed the officer an envelope. The envelope contained a gift card and a note: "You are not alone. We appreciate how you protect and serve our community. God loves you. We pray for you and your fellow officers. Merry Christmas."

Our small group pooled some money and gave a secret money blessing and note of encouragement to a hard working single mother to ease her financial burden this holiday season. She has no idea who it came from.

To Grandmother's House We Go

One of the agents at our office saw a post on Facebook about a group’s Christmas tradition to all bring $100, share a meal together, and then bless their waitress with what’s left after the bill was paid. 17 of us gathered to share a meal today, and blessed our waitress with $1600. She’s a grandma, working at Cracker Barrel, raising her two grand-kids. They are living in a hotel because of water damage at her house. Although she was blessed financially, we all walked away touched by her story. The biggest blessing to hear was that it had be 30 years since she’d been to church, but she decided her grand-kids would grow up in church and hopefully turn out better than their mom. She(the grandmother) got baptized 3 years ago. Her daughter has a year of sobriety, and her oldest grandson just got baptized earlier this year. It’s going to be an annual tradition for our group from
now on

Powerful Sneaky Story

There were eight of us that decided to put together care packages to pass out to the homeless. A couple of the guys that went with us were guys that were from His Way and experienced many of the things the homeless were going through. We packed up Deodorant, tooth brushes, floss, snacks, bottled water, warm socks and a brochure about the His Way program in case it was needed for their situation. The week leading up to this we weren’t sure where we were going to pass these bags out but trusted God would provide a place for us. The night before we were going to pass them out an employee from His Way ran into a former His Way resident at Kroger buying some milk with the last $1.73 he had. He told him he was living at a tent city off of Max Luther by Turner Beverages. The employee from His Way normally joins us but he wasn’t able to this time but he passed on the information of where to go. Several of us knew who this former resident was and knew this is where we needed to go. I could tell there were some uneasy feelings in the room when I told the guys where we were going but one of the guys from His Way knew exactly how to get to the location because he had been their before so he was our guide.

We loaded up into two large vehicles and headed down a one way dirt road in the pitch dark praying God was leading us to where He wanted us. We pulled up on the first two tents and 5 people get out. We handed them the bags and told them we loved them and God loved them. We talked to several of them for a little while and prayed with them. We had one bible to give and I asked "Bill" if he still believed in Jesus and he said it had been harder lately. I asked him if he would read the Bible if I gave him one and he said he would. More people kept on coming to us and getting bags.

At that time "Joe", the young 25 year old we came to see, pulled up on a bike. He was excited to see us. We had him guide us the next 500 yards in the dark to where the next section of the camp was located. There were another 5-7 tents in the back of this tent city where another 10-15 people were living. We passed out more bags to them and then met "Joe's" girlfriend. Our group huddled around "Joe" and his girlfriend and talked. He told us he’d been clean from drugs for 4 days and wanted to get back to His Way. His girlfriend had been clean a little longer and I recommended she get involved with the His Way women’s outpatient program that just started. We told "Joe" we loved him and missed him and we prayed over him. He broke down crying and thanked us for coming to see him. We then headed back to our vehicles and I heard a couple of the guys saying they had doubt about doing this but God really came through tonight. It was a special night and we let God guide and work through us.

I went through two different drive-thrus for lunch and dinner and paid for the cars behind me. I also left a note for them with the cashier that said, "Merry Christmas! You are dearly loved by God! Have a great day!"

Busted Being Sneaky

I left a friend one of the wooden Nativity Puzzles that I make. I rang the bell and took off running for the car.
I didn't think she saw me but when I got home I had an email from her asking if I had been Sneaky Good.

Small Notes, Big Message

I printed out 4 small notes that said, "Thank you for what you do each day. God sees you and loves you. You are enough." and typed out Psalm 139:1-6. Then I secretly put them on the desks of 4 coworkers who are either quiet worker bees or have difficult personalities.

Send it in a Letter

A group of us and guys from His Way decided to write letters to guys in jail and prison on the waiting list to come to His Way. We wrote 15-20 letters of encouragement to guys that hopefully we will meet soon. Some of them we know and the others we don’t. Many of the guys writing the letters with us sat in those very jail cells and wished they had received those same letters we wrote.
