As partners with the Huntsville Assistance Program, we have been made aware of the desperate need for canned items to fill their pantries. There are three pantries, one in Huntsville, one in Madison and one in Toney. Due to children being out of school for the summer, there has been more of a need for their church partners to help.

Specific requested needs are:

  • Canned fruit
  • Tuna
  • Pork and Beans
  • Pinto beans
  • Large canned tomatoes
  • and any vegetable (other than corn and green beans).

Our goal is to collect 200 cans.

Boxes will be located in the gym and children's lobbies for items to be collected from July 14th through July 22nd.

Please feel free to involve your family and pray over this endeavor.  Our church family has such a benevolent heart and follows up with generosity.  May God bless each of you and know this food will be a blessing to struggling working families. And to God be the glory!

There is also an opportunity for our members to volunteer at one of the three locations.  Gayla Kidd will conduct training on Saturday, July 27th from 10am to 11:30 am. If you are interested in training on how to do the interviews, praying over families who come in, or stocking the shelves, they need you.  The address for the training is 1001 Monroe Street. S.W. Huntsville Alabama 35801. It is located by the Huntsville Public Library.

Why Our Members Chose Twickenham

As someone who has been a member of Twickenham since the beginning, there is no place that I would rather be. I appreciate that we have an eldership that bases decisions on biblical principles rather than tradition. There is a broad spectrum of people who come from different backgrounds than those of us who were raised in the church of Christ and I feel that it has been beneficial. I like that Twickenham has been a part of the community instead of isolating ourselves from other denominations.

The many ministry opportunities that members can find to participate in. The uplifting worship services; the praise team is wonderful! The children's programs. I love that we have young families as well as older members worshipping together!

. . . this church has been a HUGE blessing to our family. When we came to Twickenham, I felt like we were spiritually dying on the vine. Since coming to Twickenham, God has had us on an amazing journey that is sometimes hard and sometimes beautiful - but either way I know we are both diving deeper into Him! Yay!
