For siblings and new enrolling Twickenham Members February 3, 2012
and new students can enroll starting on February 6, 2012.
Kindergarten, 2 year old and 3 year old classes are full for the 2012-2013 school year.
You may call to be placed on a waiting list.
Blue Cards and contact information are due at the beginning of the school year.
There is an annual $80 Non-refundable Registration Fee per family
that is due with the Enrollment Form.
Classes are filled on a first come, first served basis.
About Twickenham Kids
Twickenham Kids is a Christian half-day preschool and Kindergarten program.
Twickenham Kids is located at 7500 Whitesburg Drive, Huntsville, Alabama 35802 in the Twickenham Church of Christ building.
Operating Hours:
9:00am to 1:00, Monday through Friday. Drop-off begins at 8:45. We offer classes from One Year Olds through Kindergarten based on the student's age on September 1st. An open house precedes the first day of school for students and families to meet their teachers and visit their classrooms. See Weather Closures for special hours.
2011-2012 Yearly Calendar
Curriculum:
Our Three Year Old, Pre-K, and Kindergarten classes use the A Beka curriculum. A Beka is a phonics-based curriculum.
Our 1 year old, 2 year old, and 3 year old classes use a thematic curriculum. Themes include Friends, Family, School, Flowers, Holidays, Animals, Seasons, and Weather along with an emphasis on numbers and letters. We have music and movement with the children everyday and also, recess in the gym or outside on the playground. There is a toddler playground and a larger playground for 3's and up.
A Christmas musical will be performed by the students. Mini-programs are performed for Halloween and Easter. The Pre-K and Kindergarten classes will have a graduation program at the end of the school year.
Field Trips:
The Three Year Old Class through Kindergarten go on multiple field trips throughout the year that may include Tate Farm Pumpkin Patch, Botanical Gardens, etc. The PreK/ Kindergarten go to the Bailey Cove library once a month. Kindergarten goes on additional field trips as related to their unit of study, including multi-cultural restaurants in January.
Meals:
Children bring their own lunch.
Class Sizes:
One Year olds: There is a ratio of one teacher per 5 students (Maximum of 8 students per day)
Two and Three Year olds: There is a ratio of one teacher per 8 students (Maximum of 16 students per day)
Four Year olds: There is a ratio of one teacher per 10 students (Maximum of 20 students per day)
Kindergarten: There is a ratio of one teacher per 12 students.
Rates for 2011-2012
$80 Registration Fee per family (once a year, non-refundable)
$95 per month for 2 days a week
$115 per month for 3 days a week
$135 per month for 4 days a week
$160 per month for 5 days a week (1 year old- Pre-K classes)
$180 per month for Kindergarten
Note: Pre-K students must attend at least three days. Kindergarten students attend five days. Other classes may choose 2-5 day enrollment plans.
